There were 5 lights used in this shot. Two bare bulb strobes with orange gels for the cycwall on the background and one blue gelled strobe with a octabox modifier overhead for the blue light on our subject. Then we used an optical spot to created the emphasize of light on their eyes, and for the last light we had a flashlight with a plexiglass blade to make the light painting crown behind them. The main purpose of this shot was to explore the possibilities of using light painting and colored gels together because it's something I rarely see.

I recently organized a small group shoot with 3 other friends who like me want to grow and explore new creative ideas. I hired Saturn to model, knowing from our past shoots that she would take my concept to the next level with her wonderful talent. I set up a table for the model, and a large mirror on another table about 8 ft in front. There are two strip boxes overhead and the table has been wrapped in white paper for some bounce. A third light in a reflector with a red gel is on a floor stand behind and below the table for that color rising from the "horizon". The sphere is a garden decoration I got on Amazon.

My inspiration was the amazing paper hat that you see in the image. This paper hat is handmade piece by piece with countless hours of work (just to do the scales at the front is +8h.) I wanted the hat to be the centre piece.

The hat is telling the myth of the Welsh flag: the fight between two dragons under the castle.

To capture the intricate detail of the hat, I knew I wanted to light it from the back and play with the shadows and the silhouette. I used two lights to light the background and a white reflector to bring details in the shadows and create more drama. I love how the light wraps around his body and glows, creating this sense of magical creature!

Thank you!

Ravi is a doctor, but is an artist at heart. I wanted to capture him in a playful mood.

The concept of the shoot was putting female sexuality on display and making a spectacle out of it. We played through so many poses and really explored both the positive and negative sides of that. We've been wanting to use continuous light in our shoots for a while, and we finally got our hands on a Nanlite spotlight. David has a background in building theater sets, so we knew we wanted to reference a stage in this shoot and take some very theatrical portraits. We built a modular set out of wood and picked up some red fabric to create a DIY theatre curtain. Once the set was finished, we lit it using a three-light setup. We used a Nanlite Forza 500B II with a Nanlite PJ-BM Projection Attachment as the key light and two Nanlite PavoSlims for fill.

Hello Lindsay,

Once again I want back and revisited my work. This picture was telling the story of a girl making her own outfit for a special night in her place of work.

I put a light with gel behind her with smoke and I used a black promist to get it a little cinematic ambience.

I color graded in post to make it cooler. and I used the generative fill to get rid of a Pulp Fiction poster that was there ( and you did't like it much)

I hope you enjoy the new version,

Thank you,

Etrusca

I used three lights for this photo. All of them with the standard reflector and two of them with the honeycomb grid (on the model). I didn't want to retouch his skin because I think it adds to the idea of the photo: a disappointed and fed-up leader.

I used a dual-light setup for this shot: on the left, a strobe equipped with an optical spot to replicate the ambiance of a window, and on the opposite side, another strobe adorned with an L umbrella to provide subtle fill lighting.

Inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year 2023 (Viva Magenta), this monochromatic color choice was perfect to highlight mom's feminine but strong side. The image was lit with a single parabolic umbrella above and "in front" of the model so that she was hit by feathered light.

Single stripbox with grid behind the subject and off to the right. This slice of light was used to highlight the curves / body shape and implied nudity. It also gives the chance to create a high contrast black and white image.

I wanted to take advantage of the old mill brick buildings and iconic light poles in town. Sometimes less is more, and this simple white dress proves it.

Sometimes, the makeup and hair are more of what makes the look fashionable. I used a couple of softboxes with strobes to achieve this look.

The combination of black, lace, and leather is perfect, and the model nailed it with her confidence. This was part of a project I collaborated on with a local fashion designer. I used one strobe that was off to the size of a softbox. The brick of the old mill building added a grittiness to the overall end photo.

One speedlight bounced off an Vflat , like a rim light. A composite of two photos, one with a slower and one with a faster shutter speed.
Corpus et anima means body and soul which this photo represents. The idea is that we are all made of these two things and should not be separated.
