I set out to design a dramatic and creative fashion editorial that would celebrate my client's beautiful dark skin tone, with gorgeous color and effects. I made the glitter and jewel bodysuit and paired it with accessories, including a pair of Lory Sun's incredible metallic fingers, to showcase the drama. I utilized 3, and at times, 4 lights for this look. The main light was a Silver Beauty Dish with a grid to really add a beautiful pop of contrast to my client's face & hat. I placed two strobes with barn doors at 45 degree angles behind my client to act as rim lights and occasionally backlight, all while carving out her shape. I chose a teal gel for camera left, and a purple gel for camera right. Adding haze in a can was the finishing element that brought my vision to life!
