I was inspired by 1930s Hollywood glamour photography. I wanted to use that style to capture a strong mood with some ambiguity: is the subject self-estranged or is she a narcissist? I placed the model on a sheepskin on top of a dresser and had her lean into the mirror. She was wearing a vintage slip I picked up for the shoot. It helped that she was really into '30s glamour photography! The key light is a Paul C Buff Digibee 800 with standard 7 inch reflector and 20 degree grid placed to camera right. I used a Digibee 800 fill light on camera axis, also with a 7 inch reflector and 20 degree grid. I shot the image in color and converted it to rich B&W in Photoshop where I also retouched it.
