La Douleur Exquise – a bittersweet French expression for the deep, exquisite pain of unrequited love. The inspiration came from my own personal experience and the beautiful film, "In the Mood for Love," by the iconic director, Wong Kar-wai. I used a constant light with an optical spot modifier for the face. The background was lit with led panel lights.
